Saturday 2/1/20: Sunshine returns to Minneapolis forecast

What’s this mysterious, bright orb in the sky that greeted me today? It’s the sun!

We’ve seen one of the cloudiest stretches of weather in my memory, and January in Minnesota went down as one of the cloudiest in recorded history.

What’s this mysterious, bright orb in the sky that greeted me today? It’s the sun!

Well, we’ve turned a new leaf and today we’re seeing sun (with some cloudy patches possible) and more sunshine possible/likely for Sunday, too. This comes at a good time, with the Loppet taking place in Minneapolis and a weekend full of outdoor events on tap.

Without further ado, here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Looking ahead, we see highs near 40 degrees on Sunday, and then some cooling happening next week. There will definitely be more cloudy days, because it is, after all, February… but we’ll also see at least one additional sunny day on Wednesday.

As temps drop between Monday and Tuesday, that’s when one chance for a light snow shower or two shows up, and then as temperatures warm slightly by the end of the week those chances return again. At this point, nothing more than a dusting is in the 7-day forecast.

Stay tuned!
