Saturday 5/2/20: Breezy and warm in Minneapolis, for now

Today looks almost like an early June warm day in the Twin Cities, with temperatures jumping up into the middle 70s and plenty of sunshine (plus some wind). We cool a bit for Sunday, but still stay in the middle to upper 60s, before shower chances and cooler temps return for next week.

Here’s a quick look at your 7-day forecast for Minneapolis/St. Paul before we dive into some details:

When we’re talking winds, we’re not talking extreme winds like what we saw last week (40+ mph gusts), but rather 10-15 mph winds peaking late-morning and lasting into the evening hours.

Here’s the forecast winds closer to 1-2 p.m. this afternoon:

Looking ahead toward Sunday, temps dip slightly and so do the winds — still coming from the northwest.

By Monday we see shower chances return, with the best chances for rain showing up Monday night to Tuesday. Stay tuned, stay safe, and enjoy the weekend!
