Today will likely feel the most brutal of this week’s mini taste of January – with a temp starting off a few degrees below zero and not rising much more than that – a high near 2 or 3 degrees for Minneapolis/St. Paul today!
After that, temps start to rise. Thursday, we’ll climb up near 20 and Friday up near 30 degrees:

Along with that warming, though, we’ll expect some snow heading into Thursday. Not a lot – but it’ll again be at an incredibly inconvenient time. We’ll expect the first snow showers to show up near about 4-5 a.m. Thursday:

Snow peaks at about 7-8 a.m., and then starts to taper and diminish – leaving behind a quick 1-2″ of snow around the metro area, with snow at that level seen all the way north to Duluth.
Get ready for another slog for Thursday, but then it quiets down – despite the potential for what should just be a dusting of snow Friday night. Stay tuned!
